I apologise. Abjectly and sincerely, I am sorry; the self-indulgent composition I churned out in the wee hours of yesterday morning should never have been sent. I have a knee-jerk reaction to what I read and subsequently deem pompous or dishonest prose (which is not to to say it is, just that I think it is – it’s just like, my opinion, man) and, even in my advanced years, I have yet to learn to keep it to myself.
This is the second of my posts that has prompted an ad hominem response from your correspondents and evidently I am trampling on some nerves – please feel free to delete my dissenting opinions from these pages. I will unsubscribe myself but I do have one request and that is that you – in the interest of full disclosure – describe Cinemantics as a newsletter “for American movie-lovers, by American movie-lovers.”
